The EU refused to revise the text of the Association Agreement with Ukraine and to begin the negotiations on this issue
The representative of the head of the European diplomacy Catherine Ashton Maja Kocijancic reported that the EU would not begin the new negotiations on the text of already initialed agreement on association and deep and comprehensive free trade area with Ukraine. She also said that the compensations to Ukraine would not be discussed.
The diplomat noted that "there were no debates on the compensation" of the losses of Ukraine after the association with the EU, which was mentioned today by the Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov during the session in Verkhovna Rada.
"We are ready to discuss various aspects of implementation of the agreement on association and deep and comprehensive free trade area with Ukraine, and to explain in details the specific benefits that the agreement will bring Ukraine. However, we are not ready to open new negotiations on the text of the agreement," Kocijancic noted.
Previously the EU denied the information of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolay Azarov about the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Brussels tomorrow. Several Ukrainian news agencies, referencing the sources in the European Parliament, inform that the meeting in Brussels is forecasted to take place on December 16-20.
