Eduard Limonov: "The Kremlin should help the Eastern Ukrainian brothers to separate from those who strive for the West"
The Russian political expert and writer Eduard Limonov believes that Ukraine will face an imminent split.
According to his point of view, the events in Kiev are the confrontation of two parts of Ukraine: the West, which strives for Europe, and the East, which has always been loyal to Russia.
Limonov writes in his personal blog that "This is the beginning of the end of that united Ukraine, which separated from the USSR in Belovezhskaya Pushcha in 1991. The country, in which, in fact, two different countries have always existed, today comes apart at the seams, there is a strong feeling that Ukraine will split into two parts."
The politician believes that it is high time for the government of Russia to intervene with the situation and help the inhabitants of nine regions of the country that support Russia to separate from the rest of Ukraine, which supports the European integration, and to become a part of the Russian Federation.
"Before the process transformed into the civil war, the Kremlin should interfere and help the Eastern-Ukrainian brothers to separate from those who strive for the West," Limonov writes.
