First spring field works were finished in the Crimea
During the press-conference in Simferopol on April 3 the minister of agrarian policy and food of the Crimean Republic Nikolay Poliushkyn reported that the agricultural works in the Crimea were conducted without failures and in accord with priorly developed schedule.
The Crimean agrarians have practically finished early spring field works. The minister of the agrarian policy has also reported that 96 percent of winter crops are in good condition and added that 412 thousand hectares of cereal crops were sown in the peninsula in total, including wheat, barley and rape. "Today the works on adding herbicide are being conducted," noted Poliushkyn.
Moreover, the Crimean agricultural companies started sowing the following late spring-planted crops: sunflower, corn, soy and sorghum. Early and late vegetables are also being planted. Planting of rice will be finished by the middle of May.
Besides that 30 hectares of vineyards and 30 hectares of orchard crops will be planted in the Crimea.
