Crimean pilgrims will follow "the steps of Saint Sergius of Radonezh"
The Crimeans will be able to visit the places, connected with the life of Saint Sergius of Radonezh. Simferopol and Crimean eparchy is organizing a pilgrimage for May 12-24 in honor of 700th anniversary of birth of the saint.
As the press-service of the eparchy reports, extensive itinerary of trip "In the steps of Saint Sergius of Radonezh" will supposedly take the pilgrims through the following locations: Simferopol, Kerch (ferry), Voronezh, Zadonsk, Optina Pustin, Khotkovo, Sergiyev Posad (Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra), Vladimir, Murom, Diveyevo, Vischa, Poschupovo, Kerch, Simferopol.
Saint Sergius of Radonezh is revered by the Russian Orthodox Church as Venerable and is considered to be the greatest hermit of the Russian land. He is a founder of Troitsky monastery in Moscow area (currently Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra) and a transformer of the monkhood in the Northern Russia.
