Ukraine signed the political part of the association agreement with the EU
Signing of the political part of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU took place in Brussels.
The document was signed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyk, the President of the Council of the EU Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and heads of all member-countries of the EU.
The signed document covers only the political cooperation, security issues and the fight against terrorism. The economic part of the agreement is planned to be signed till the end of the year.
In the meantime experts forecast that Ukraine will face default and sharp deterioration of living standards - up to food shortages and electricity cut offs.
"The West promises to provide Ukraine with credit, but does not keep its word. During the past period Ukrainian budget received 1.150 billion dollars. The government intends to spend the larger part of funds on the National Guard, consisting of 20 thousand soldiers, who is unable to function," the international analyst Yevgeny Pozhidayev wrote.
