Earthquake in the Philippines
A magnitude-7.2 earthquake struck the Philippine islands, leaving at least 20 people dead; however, the number of victims might increase.
According to the US Geological Survey the underground shocks were registered at the depth of 33 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 2 km south of Nueva Vida Sur, 31 km south-east of Tibigan, 37 km north-east of Tagbilaran, and 45 km south-west of Talibon. A popular tourist destination Cebu is located in that region; however, no information about destructions or injured has been received from there.
Collapse of the roof of the market in Mandaue and the building of the municipality in Bohol Island caused human injuries.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center there is no danger of a substantial wave arising.
