The Central Election Committee has blocked the access to the Crimean voters lists

As the press service of the Central Election Committee of Ukraine has reported today, this is intended for preventing unauthorized access to the register of voters and disrupting the conduct of referendum on the status and authority of the Crimean Autonomous Republic on March 16.

"Considering the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea connected with the attempt of preparation for the conduct of unlawful local referendum and aiming at securing the database of the state register of voters from illegal use of personal data, unauthorized access and access abuse, as well from disruption of integrity of the register database and its software and hardware, the Committee has unanimously adopted the resolution and decided to temporarily block the access of the bodies of the state voters register, which were created in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, to the database of the state register of voters," remarked the Central Election Committee.

The Central Election Committee called on the officials, authorities, election commissions, citizens and organizations to adhere to the laws of Ukraine about referendums and preserve the state property.
