UAH 400 million needed for a modern cancer center in Kharkov region
Absence of a modern oncology center remains the main challenge for implementation of Presidential Goals on prevention and treatment of cancer, said Oleksandr Galatsan, Director of the Health Department at Kharkov Regional State Administration live on the radio program “Morning exclusive”.
“In Soviet times, we had certain quite effective system of cancer care. However, regretfully, Kharkov region remained without a modern oncological center. Regional authorities have already allocated a land plot for the future construction project on the territory of Saltovsky medical complex. The necessary land allocation formalities are being completed, for subsequent trouble-free project work. The construction project requires at least UAH 200 million; about the same amount is needed for medical equipment,” said Galatsan.
