More than 500 settlements in Ukraine remain without electricity due to snowfalls
524 settlements remain without electricity in nine regions of the country and of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, specifically, 129 - in the Crimea, 70 - in Kherson region, 91 - in Nikolayev region, 56 - in Donetsk region and 15 - in Zaporozhye region.
630 vehicles are in the snowdrifts.
Heavy snowfalls in Ukraine led to cutoffs of electricity on mass scale. According to the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, emergency response and restoration teams continue to work on liquidation of the consequences in intensified mode.
"During January 30, electricity supply was fully restored in Kirovograd, Chernigov, Cherkassy and Kiev regions," the department noted.
The situation on the roads of Ukraine still remains difficult. According to the state service, during the last day the personnel of the company Ukravtodor eliminated 10 traffic congestions, released 1,418 vehicles, carrying 2,460 people, from snowdrifts.
"As of 8:00 a.m. of January 31 630 vehicles with 782 people are in traffic congestions in five regions of the country," the office specified.
Currently, 59 units of machinery and 140 people are involved in elimination of traffic congestions and cleaning of the roads.
