Klyuyev: today the most important is to calm down the society and stop confrontation
During the negotiations with the delegation of the European Parliament the head of the Administration of the President Andrey Klyuyev said that the main task was to calm down the society and stop confrontation.
Today Andrey Klyuyev met with the Special Delegation of the European Parliament headed by the Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok.
During the conversation the ways to regulate the internal political situation in Ukraine on the basis of a mutually acceptable compromise through dialog of the government with the opposition and with the civil society were discussed.
According to the head of the Administration of the President, for this purpose the position of the authorities and the representatives of the opposition should be agreed, as well as the position of representatives of the public organizations should be taken into consideration. Klyuyev stressed that the government is open for a dialog.
"Today the most important is to calm down the society and stop confrontation. Bloodshed cannot be allowed in any case. The representatives of the government and of the opposition forces understand it very well," he said.
The deputies of the European Parliament expressed their willingness to help in peaceful settlement of the situation. In this context, Elmar Brok welcomed recent decisions of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine about the cancellation of some laws dated January 16, 2014 as a step towards the way out of the crisis.
