Jewish monument desecrated in Poltava
Vandals desecrated a monument to the Sorrowful Mother, established in Poltava in the memory of the city Jews mass murdered by the Nazis during the Second World War.
According to local police, the monument is desecrated with anti-Semitic writing in green paint, also used to draw a cross and paint over the eyes of the sculpture, reports "Interfax” news agency.
In 2010, this monument have already been vandalized - at the time it was desecrated with black paint. The attackers have not been found.
In 2011, this same monument was desecrated by Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov graffiti who were charged with an administrative offense.
In 2013, vandals desecrated the monument again.
The Grieving Mother Monument installed at the place where during the WWII the Nazis shot more than 30,000 civilians and prisoners of war.
