How riot police balaclavas were taken off (video)
Tonight, protesters deflated tyres and blocked the two buses with Berkut riot police on Peremogy Avenue in Kiev. Protesters requested police officers to remove helmets and balaclavas.
The protesters claim that these buses transported those who guarded the premises of Sviatoshynsky district court where a judge sentenced the so-called “Vasilkov terrorists” to 6 years in prison for preparing a terrorist attack in 2011 on the Independence Day.
The “Vasilkov terrorists” case was under investigation since 2011. On August 22, 2011 in Kyiv region Vasilkovo workers security service detained Igor Mosiychuk and Sergei Bevza, deputies of Vasilkov City Council and deputy assistant Vladimir Shpara, accusing them of plotting a terrorist act (blowing up the Lenin monument in Borispol). All those arrested are members of the nationalist organization "Patriot of Ukraine". The security service seized an explosive device. At the time, the monument has already been removed by the decision of the Boryspol City Council. The case has been in Kiev-Svyatoshinsky district court since the end of 2011.
