Ukrainian economy shouldn’t loiter around already crowded space
The Soviet economy was uncompetitive, but old economic ties between the former republics are the only legacy of the Soviet Union, received by Ukraine. They should be used.
This opinion was shared by Anton Podlutsky, chief editor of RBC news portal, during a public non-political discussion “Future economic development of Ukraine in the context of the integration processes”, held in Kiev on 16-17 December.
The expert noted that for the past 20 years little has changed in the economies of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. It is reasonable to restore and maintain the economic links that remain. We need to get back to these markets while there still is demand for the Ukrainian goods. The European market is saturated even without Ukraine.
"We need to use the opportunities that exist rather than loiter around already crowded space," said Anton Podlutsky.
