The fir-trees in Dnepropetrovsk are guarded by the horse squadrons of police
The fir-trees in Dnepropetrovsk are guarded from the poachers by the horse squadrons of police. The law enforcement officers patrol the forestry from the beginning of December of this year.
As was noted by the regional administration of the forestry and game management, such precautionary measures were taken to prevent illegal logging of pines. The horse police quickly responds to an unauthorized logging of the New Year’s trees.
Now the poachers of the forests will be punished not only with fines. The criminal responsibility (3 years of imprisonment) is stipulated by the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal logging of more than a dozen of pines.
As noted in the regional forestry, the prices for the fir-trees in Dnepropetrovsk region remained at the same level as last year, and amount to 50 UAH for one meter of a tree. Herewith, the price depends on the height of the tree: the higher the pine is, the more expensive it will be.
Let us remind that in December 2012, the forestries of the region sold more than 400,000 pine trees. This year the forestries of the region are planning to sell approximately the same number of New Year’s trees.
