Today in Oslo the Nobel Peace Prize was handed
The international Organization for Prohibition of the Chemical Weapon (OPCW) is recognized the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 2013. The gold medal, the diploma and the money check were handed personally over to the chairman of the organization Ahmet Uzyumdzhyu.
The organization began its activity on April, 29, 1997, and during sixteen years provided the mode of chemical disarmament. Among problems OPCW deal with is assistance to the participating states in case of application the chemical weapon against them. The initiative to award OPCW with the Nobel Peace Prize proceeded from a context of the Syrian regulation and several hundreds of tons of chemical stocks elimination.
The awards ceremony of winners in the field of physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine, and also literature will proceed on the same day in Stockholm.
