Poland Demands Visa-Free Regime for Ukrainians
In Poland, the action to collect signatures in support of the abolition of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens in the EU was organized. The decision to cancel visas for Ukrainians was supported by journalist experts of the newspaper Rzeczpospolita: “Europe must now prove its good attitude to Ukraine. Otherwise, the East and West will be closed to each other for a long time. This, of course, does not benefit to anyone. Therefore, the aim to allow Ukrainians to move freely across European borders is a priority. The Europe’s permission will have a positive impact on the situation that is now in Ukraine".
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski supported the initiative. Together with the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk Franciszek Radoslaw, Sikorski will meet with representatives of the EU and consider issue in details. "Europe can cancel the visa regime for Ukraine. However, it is important to understand that from the Ukrainian government have to perform the technical conditions that the EU will introduce in a mandatory", said Sikorski.
Today the European Commission received the consent to abolish visas for the citizens of Moldova, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland on Polish radio.
