The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany came to Ukraine to reconcile the government and the opposition
Today Guido Westerwelle, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, arrived in Kiev to implement bilateral negotiations. In the framework of the visit the minister will participate in the meeting of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which will be held today on Thursday, December 5, in Kiev.
Besides the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, the Chairman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski will visit Ukraine. Catherine Ashton, the Head of the EU for the foreign affairs and security policy, John Kerry, the State Secretary of the United States, and Laurent Fabius, the Foreign Minister of France, refused to attend the summit.
The West-oriented Ukrainian opposition expresses its disagreement with the policy of the President Viktor Yanukovich by numerous rallies, which have been held two weeks in a row. Europe is against dispersion of the rallies: "The European state should not have place for violence," John Kerry commented on the actions of the Ukrainian government.
