The residents of Kharkov gathered for People's popular assembly
The residents of Kharkov conducted People's popular assembly - the action of the last notice of Euromaidan. Around one thousand people gathered at Svobodi Square. People's deputy from the United opposition Arsen Avakov came to the event.
The head of Kharkov human rights group Evgeny Zakharov, former deputy governor of Kharkov region Yaroslav Yuschenko, deputy of Kharkov regional council Ivan Varchenko also addressed the participants of the rally. Students, teachers and entrepreneurs of the city had free access to the microphone to make their speeches. The action ended with a concert, in which the bands Kramnitsya Dumok and DostoyevskyFM participated as well as the semi-finalist of the show Ukraine Got Talent Evgeny Berejnoy.
The People's popular assembly started with the EU anthem and ended with the anthem of Ukraine. Participants chanted "Yanukovych, sign", "Association", "Kharkiv is Europe". Big banner with a sign "Residents of Kharkiv demand agreement with the EU. Agreement with the EU is a way into the future" was hung across Sumskaya street.
The participants of Euromaidan plan to meet tomorrow as well. If the association agreement is signed, the people will come to the square with Bengal fires and sweets. In the opposite case the organizers called upon the residents of Kharkov to come to the rally with dustpans and besoms.
