Eurocontrol has termporarily banned flights to the Crimea
Interfax-Ukraine reports that the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) has temporarily banned flights to the Crimea, particularly to Simferopol and Sevastopol.
Eurocontrol's decision was published at flightworx website.
According to it, Eurocontrol, following ICAO's convention about international civil aviation, will not recognize any unilateral declarations of aeronavigation service above any part of the Ukrainian airspace, which were issued by anyone other than Ukrainian authorities.
According to Eurocontrol, flights to Simferopol and Sevastopol are banned until further notice.
When selecting the routes, other than the closed ones, Eurocontrol also advises to coordinate them with the Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Turkish control centers to avoid violations in air traffic.
