Profit of the Ukrainian banks fell by almost half
From January to October 2013 the financial institutions received nearly 2 billion hryvnas of net profit. According to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), net profit of the banks of Ukraine from January to October 2013 amounted to 2.1 billion hryvnas, which is by 1.7 billion hryvnas or 1.8 times less than during the same period of 2012 (3.8 billion hryvnas).
The NBU reported that in January-October of 2013 revenue of the banks increased by 9.1 percent — up to 135.7 bln.hrn., the costs — by 10.8 percent to 133.6 bln.hrn. as compared with the same period in 2012.
Earlier he NBU has said that the assets of the banks of Ukraine increased in October by 0.8 percent and amounted to 1.244 trillion hryvnas. The total bank assets amounted to 1.378 trillion hryvnas by early November. Capital of banks amounted to 182.3 billion hrn. or 14.6 percent of the liabilities of the banks.
