Ukrainian communists warn that the referendum about entry to the EU will happen in any case
The leader of Ukrainian communists Petr Simonenko said that in spite of the attempts to prohibit it the referendum about the integration choice of Ukraine might start on October 10. The politician thinks that conducting the referendum was banned as a part of a conspiracy between the authority and the opposition.
"They speak of the European values and forget about the main priority among them, which is the human right to choose. If we do not get a legitimate decision we will start a referendum on October 10 and before the summit in November we will show that the people of Ukraine actually do not support this policy and demand conducting the referendum."
The "referendum" is planned to be conducted in Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Simferopol, Kharkov, and Chernigov. Kiev was excluded, since this kind of events is prohibited by the court decision there. On October 6 the Communist Party of Ukraine conducted rallies to support entry of Ukraine to the Customs Union in Donetsk and Kharkov, the number of participants to which totaled to around 4,000 people.
