Lugansk protesters rally for referendum
Lugansk protesters continue a rally demanding the immediate referendum. People gathered at the square of WWII Heroes opposite the Lugansk Regional State Administration. They are holding flags of the USSR, Russia and St. George ribbons.
In their speeches, the protesters demand the regional council to initiate a referendum, otherwise the Regional Council would have to resign for subsequent local elections.
The police heavily guard the Regional State Administration; there are several buses with law enforcers in the yard.
Yesterday, on March 22, protesters picketed the premises of Ukraine’s Security Service in Lugansk region, forcing local police bosses to promise the speedy release of activists kept in SBU pre-trial detention centre in Kiev.
