Yatsenyk: NATO will not agree to accept Ukraine
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyk expressed doubts that the country will be accepted to NATO. According to ITAR-TASS, Arseniy Yatsenyk said that the North Atlantic Alliance would not agree to accept Ukraine, even if Kiev asked about it.
Herewith the Prime Minister added that he "remembers the situation in 2008", meaning the NATO summit in Bucharest in 2008, at which the decision about the possible future membership of Ukraine in the alliance was not adopted. Recently negotiations between new Ukrainian authorities and the Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen took place in Brussels. At that meeting the North Atlantic Alliance expressed its determination "to expand cooperation with Ukraine." The parties discussed ways of strengthening the Ukrainian army and the perspective of joint projects.
