Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and Russia discussed measures to reduce tensions in the Crimea
The press-service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation informs that the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Igor Tenykh and his Russian colleague Sergey Shoigu discussed in the telephone conversation the situation in the Crimea and measures to reduce tension on the peninsula.
A telephone conversation was the initiative of the Ukraine side. Shoigu and Tenykh agreed to continue working contacts in future.
Previously on March 19 Igor Tenykh and the first Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitaly Yarema intended to visit bases of Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the Crimea; however, they were not allowed to enter the territory of the peninsula by authorities of the Crimea.
