Chernov: extremism and violence should have no place in Slobozhanshchina
The chairman of Kharkov Regional Council Sergey Chernov called on inhabitants of Kharkov region to remain calm, not to yield to provocations and refrain from participation in mass activities.
"Events that our country experienced in the past few months that stirred our society with unprecedented force taught us to appreciate peace, stability and confidence in the future properly. These are not just words for each of us. Confrontation that swept on the country affected our region as well. Residents of Kharkov had to pay a heavy price, including human lives," the statement of the chairman of the Kharkov Regional Council Sergey Chernov to inhabitants of Kharkov region says.
"Extremism and violence should have no place in Slobozhanshchina. No actions and rallies should go beyond the framework of the Constitution and lawfulness, and violate norms of morals. I call on inhabitants of Kharkov region to maintain calm and public order, not to yield to provocations, not to allow young people to be involved in conflicts," Chernov stressed.
The news agency Kharkov previously reported that at night of March 14 two people died as a result of clashes between the Right Sector and city dwellers.
