Konstantinov: Crimean authorities would not allow mockery of state symbols of Ukraine
Crimean authorities will create a collection point for Ukrainian state symbols, and will not allow mocking them, said Chairman of the State Council of the Republic Vladimir Konstantinov.
“There will be a collection point for the symbols of the Ukrainian state, which then will be delicately disposed of by the Crimean authorities. Crimea does not tolerate vandalism demonstrated by its ideological enemies and haters,” he stressed.
Following the results of March 16 referendum to determine the status of autonomy, Crimea has been declared an independent sovereign state. People's Deputies of the autonomy’s parliament appealed to Russia asking for secession of the Crimea as a new federal subject of Russia.
Referendum turnout broke all possible records, at 83.1% of the total electorate. 96.77% of voters voted for joining the Crimea to the Russian Federation.
