In Sydney action in support of Crimean referendum was held
In the Australian capital protesters gathered at Martin square in support of All-Crimea referendum on reunification with Russia.
The action was attended by about 70 people. Most of them are descendants of Cossacks, migrants of Serbia and representatives of the Syrian Christian community. The demonstrators chanted «Crimea! Russia!» while holding Russian flags and posters with inscriptions «Crimea - we are with you!» «No to fascism!» and «Crimea, welcome home!». Activists recognized the legitimacy of the referendum, as residents of the Crimea had the right to determine their future.
The action wasn’t anti-Ukrainian. Further in several meters from the participants of the rally picket of supporters of the current Ukrainian government happened, however, no scandals were observed.
Meanwhile, voting in Crimea has already begun. The referendum is being held without violations. According to the Prime Minister of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov, at the moment, the turnout of citizens is about 50% in almost all regions of Crimea.
