Kernes continues to act as a mayor of Kharkov
The mayor of Kharkov Gennady Kernes returned from Kiev to Kharkov and proceeded to his responsibilities.
On March 13 Pechersk District Court of Kiev adopted a decision about the measure of restraint for Kernes in the form of partial house arrest. From 9:00 p.m. till 7:00 a.m. he is obliged to be at the address: Kharkov, Lenin Avenue 21.
According to the mayor of Kharkov, he has yet to decide whether to appeal the decision of the court about partial house arrest. Herewith, he argues that he is not familiar with the victims, who appear in the case.
Gennady Kernes is suspected according to three articles: tortures, death threats and unlawful deprivation of freedom or kidnapping of a person. Previously Kernes stated that the case against him, as well as against the ex-governor of Kharkov region Mikhail Dobkin, is fabricated by the new Minister of the Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
