28 people were injured and one person was killed during the clashes at the rally in Donetsk
According to the Board of Health of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, one person was killed and 28 were injured during clashes between participants of Russian and Ukrainian oriented rallies in Donetsk.
According to medics, a 22-year-old man, a resident of Donetsk died as a result of clashes between participants of two rallies. "He died in the ambulance from a stab wound," is noted on the website.
"According to the data as of 8:00 a.m. on March 14, the total number of people, who addressed doctors, is 28 people. Four injured persons were hospitalized: one of them is in the traumatic surgery with the injury of an eye, three other persons are in the neurosurgery department, one of them was operated and is in difficult condition," the message stated.
Russian oriented rally and rally of the supporters of Euromaidan took place simultaneously on Lenin Square yesterday in Donetsk. Suddenly the peaceful protest escalated into a collision. According to eyewitnesses, activists of Euromaidan began to throw petards at protesters. Fights burst out in the crowd all the time, tear gas sprays were used. Law enforcement officers tried to bring order, but the pressure by provocateurs increased, they threw cobblestones and pieces of reinforcement. Finally the police managed to bring additional forces to the square and to stop clashes.
