In Yalta, a new-born zebra called “Russia”
Zebra couple Sultan and Mira in Yalta Zoo “Skazka” (the only private zoo in Ukraine) on March 12 got a daughter. According to the press service of the zoo, the new-born was named “Russia”.
This is the first time a zebra was born in the “Skazka” zoo.
Unusual name was given to the baby zebra on the occasion of her birthday on the eve of the Crimea referendum which will determine the future of the peninsula.
On March 16, Crimea authorities will hold a referendum, which will have two questions: return to the 1992 Constitution and the annexation to Russia. The decision to hold a referendum was adopted at the session of the Crimean parliament on March 6.
