US, Bulgarian and Romanian Navy in the Black Sea to be joined by French frigate
Joint exercises of Bulgaria, Romania and US Navy currently held in the Black Sea will soon be joined by a French Navy frigate. The French ship received permission to enter the territorial waters from Romania President Traian Basescu.
Also, due to the situation in Ukraine the Romanian authorities granted NATO aircrafts the right for observation flights over the Romania airspace.
In Romania, officials at Ministry of Defence point out that joint Navy exercises of PASSEX type were already planned last year.
The exercise will end tomorrow, March 14, but the USS destroyer Truxtun that entered the Black Sea on March 8, will remain in the territorial waters of Romania.
