Prices for housing and public services will be increased in April at the demand of the IMF
Increase of tariffs for housing and public services for Ukrainians will begin already in April. The deputy Minister of Finance Vitaliy Lisovenko at the extraordinary economic summit in Kiev informed that it was due to Ukraine having begun fulfilling the requirements of IMF in return for the credit.
Herewith, Vitaliy Lisovenko did not mention by how much the tariffs would increase. According to him, as long as the IMF mission is in Ukraine, "it is inappropriate to comment on discussed figures." Nevertheless, he recognized that the increase of housing and public services costs is the part of the price, which Ukraine will have to pay for the provision of the credit.
In addition to IMF loans, the new government of Ukraine is desperately trying to get credits and subsidies from the other sources. For the moment Lisovenko cannot name the definite conditions for obtaining additional financial assistance.
