The Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against the Dnepropetrovsk millionaire Gennady Balashov in accordance with articles Public Calls for Extremism and Incitement to Murder.
"According to the investigation, on March 10, 2014 Gennady Balashov, making a speech on the square in Kiev, made a public call to murder Russian citizens in the Crimea, as well as on the territory of Ukraine," the message of the Investigation Committee says.
According to the official representative of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin, in the nearest future Gennady Balashov will be indicted in his absence and he will become wanted.
"The Investigation Committee together with other law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation intends to strictly protect Russian citizens on the territory of the Crimea and Ukraine within the Russian and international law, and bring to criminal responsibility anyone, who commits crimes against Russian citizens or incites to it," the official representative of the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation emphasized.
The native of Dnepropetrovsk is known for his offensive speeches. For example, in 2010 Balashov made a speech appealing not to pay taxes to the treasury and to do shadow business.
