Yanukovych predicts poverty for the Ukrainians
Viktor Yanukovych at the press conference held on March 11 in Rostov-on-Don predicted serious deterioration of social and economic situation in Ukraine in the nearest future.
According to Yanukovych, the new authority will certainly put all the responsibility to him personally or, perhaps, on Russia.
"I would like to warn that in the nearest future a serious deterioration of the social and economic situation will take place in the country. This will be a direct blow to the people of Ukraine. The usurpers, who captured the power, will attempt to put the responsibility for this on me, and perhaps even on Russia. I will never agree with it. This is not my fault," Yanukovych said.
He called steps to reduce social costs that were planned by the new government (pensions, benefits, wages) "inhuman and unpopular."
"Our government and I had a clear plan to preserve the living standards of Ukrainians. Now, after the unconstitutional coup d'etat, seizure of power by usurpers, unfortunately, it become impossible," Yanukovych said.
