NATO will liven up its cooperation with the leadership of Ukraine
The Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine in Brussels stated that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) would liven up its interaction with political and military leadership of Ukraine.
"The Alliance intends to intensify partnership, cooperation in the framework of the commission NATO-Ukraine to support democratic reforms. This will include activation of cooperation with the political and military leadership of Ukraine, strengthening of efforts in increasing capacity of Ukrainian military and joint trainings and exercises. NATO will also activate engagement of Ukraine in multinational projects on capacity development," Anders Fogh Rasmussen stressed.
The Secretary General of NATO also called on Russia to fulfill international obligations, to withdraw its troops from the Crimea and not to interfere in the internal affairs of Ukraine.
Because of the current situation in Ukraine, and in particular, in the Crimea, the United States expressed willingness to help the Baltic mission of NATO to patrol airspace, as well as to enhance aviation detachment in Poland.
