Most Crimeans support joining Russia — Konstantinov
Today, Crimea parliament adopted an important decision because of the threat to life of the residents of the republic and destabilisation in the country, said Chairman of the Supreme Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov at a briefing in Simferopol.
According to him, the decision to hold Crimea-wide referendum on the status and powers of the Crimea on March 16 is completely legal. And the deputies who supported the issue are politically responsible people who by their vote reflected the mood of Crimeans and provided them with security guarantees.
“Over 70 percent of the Crimea population support ARC accession to the Russian Federation. People support this because they see a strong Russian leadership, which guarantees the protection and stability. Crimea residents want to maintain peace and order, to live and work, to raise children. Therefore they see protection in Russia,” said the speaker of parliament.
