Parliament sets up commission for new “language law”
Ukraine’s parliament has set up a temporary special commission to prepare a draft law on the development and usage of languages in Ukraine. The motion was supported by 275 deputies.
Vice-Speaker Ruslan Koshulinsky was appointed the head of the commission. The commission includes People’s Deputies Svetlana Fabricant (Party of Regions), Vladimir Yavorivskiy (Batkivschyna), Maria Matios (“UDAR”), Irina Farion (“Svoboda”). By March 31, the Commission shall prepare and submit to the parliament the draft law on the development and usage of languages in Ukraine.
