Russian and German Foreign Ministers talk on the situation in Ukraine
Foreign Ministers of Russia and Germany, Sergei Lavrov and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, met for talks in Geneva. The politicians talked behind closed doors.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin initiated a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. In conversation with Merkel, Putin pointed out the threat of violence by ultra-nationalists in Ukraine.
According to him, this represents a threat to life and legitimate interests of Russian citizens and the entire Russian population. Russian President said, “The measures taken by the Russian Federation are fully adequate to the current extraordinary situation”.
