The State Duma asks Putin to protect Crimea
The State Duma Council urged Vladimir Putin to use all available means to “protect the Crimea population from tyranny and violence.”
Russian deputies appealed with this statement to the President.
Earlier on Saturday head of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Sergey Aksenov asked for assistance in maintaining peace and order in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
In turn, the Kremlin administration stated in connection with the Aksenov’s appeal: Russian Federation will not disregard appeal of the Prime Minister of Crimea Sergey Aksenov to the Russian President on assist in establishing peace and stability in the Autonomous Republic.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia does not intend to enter into the consultations on the issue with the Ukrainian side as was proposed by Yatsenyuk.
“In this context Russia sees no need to hold proposed by the Ukrainian side urgent bilateral consultations.”
