Ukraine asks UN Security Council to treat the situation in Ukraine seriously
Ukraine’s Permanent envoy to the UN Yuriy Sergeyev said this on Friday on the press conference after a closed Security Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine.
“We have asked the UN Security Council to take seriously the situation in Ukraine and to take appropriate measures in order to help us stop the hazardous developments,” reports his words ITAR-TASS news agency.
Sergeyev spoke at a closed meeting of the Security Council; the SC also considered a report on the situation in Ukraine by Oscar Fernandez-Taranco, UN Secretary General Aide for Political Affairs. Afterwards the diplomats from 15 countries — members of the Council retired to deliberate the issue.
