Chronicle of the Crimean events (updated)
3:42 p.m. - The Crimean deputies Refat Chubarov, Leonid Pilunskiy and Andrey Senchenko came out to protesters and assured people that there would be no situation when only one party is at power in the Crimea. Residents of the Crimea will lead the Crimea. The speakers finished their speech with the words "Glory to Ukraine!", and the crowd responded "Glory to heroes!"
Refat Chubarov called on protesters to leave in organized groups.
3:40 p.m. - Representatives of the Crimean Tatar people supplanted representatives of the Slavic rally, who support joining the Crimea to the Russian Federation, from the square in front of the Supreme Council of the Crimea to the direction of Zhukovskiy Street. Flags and posters of activists were rumpled in the jam.
Currently, only supporters of Majlis are in front of the Crimean parliament.
It was announced via the loudspeaker that the session of the Crimean Parliament would not take place that day.
3:26 p.m. - The crowd started actions. It attempts to force the police back. People have already approached the footsteps of the parliament.
Bottles are thrown. People are very aggressively set. No one of the parties of the rally is going to calm down.
The Victory Flag appeared above the crowd.
3:00 p.m. - There is one more clash in front of the Supreme Council of the Crimea. The crowd demanded to remove the Bandera red and black flag. One part of the protesters welcomed this appeal with animation, and another part reacted with noisy indignation.
Every time fights are becoming more and more widespread, flags, brought by activists, are being broken in the crowd.
2:50 p.m. - There are clashes between protesters, a fight has begun. Empty bottles were thrown into the crowd.
Residents of Yevpatoriya joined the rally. Judging from the fact that journalists were allowed to enter the building of the Supreme Council of the Crimea, the session will be held.
2:13 p.m. - Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea Refat Chubarov and Sergey Aksenov offered to make the so-called "corridor", which would divide two groups of protesters: supporters of Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people and Russian oriented residents of the Crimea. The fight began.
2:10 p.m. - New flags appeared in front of the Supreme Council of the Crimea, which, according to rumors, were brought by residents of Sevastopol. Including, there are flags of the Russian Block and St. Andrew's flags here.
2:05 p.m. -During the confrontation a clash occurred between the groups of activists because of a dropped flag of Ukraine. The fight began. Deputies of the Crimean parliament Refat Chubarov, Sergey Aksenov and Olga Kovitidi came out with microphones and tried to calm people down. The fight stopped.
1:45 p.m. - Young people wearing masks with the red and black Bandera flag appeared at the rally in front of the Crimean parliament. They say that this is an answer to Russian flags, which were brought by participants of the rally.
People holding Russian flags and people with red and black flags are opposite each other and flipping each other off.
1:20 p.m. - Deputies of Verkhovna Rada of the Crimea Refat Chubarov and Sergey Aksenov came out to protesters. They announced that Party of Regions will gather at 2:00 p.m. Both of them emphasized that Party of Regions should be blamed for the current situation.
They asked people to be patient. They announced that they would initiate postponement of the session of the parliament for a few days, in order that the situation would calm down and people would peacefully leave, to avoid provocations, fights, and blood.
In the end they told the crowd to chant "Peace to the Crimea."
It is noteworthy that Russian part of the population listened silently when Chubarov was speaking. When Aksenov started his speech, the Crimean Tatars tried to shout him down. The head of Bakhchisaray Majlis Akhtem Chiygoz and Chubarov tried to stop their compatriots.
1:15 p.m. - Soon forces will become equal on the square in front of the parliament: the rumor that residents of Kerch are about to arrive, is spread.
12:50 a.m. - Afghans joined the rally in front of Verkhovna Rada. The whole column arrived. Several buses also arrived; everything seems to indicate that they brought residents of Sevastopol.
People, who arrived, shout out: "Russia! Hooray! ".
The rally of ideological opponents (the Crimean Tatars) remains more numerous.
12:35 p.m. - Two groups of activists strike in front of the building of the Supreme Council of the Crimea. On the one side there are about 7,000 supporters of Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people (mainly men); on the other side there are about 5,000 Russian oriented residents of the Crimea. There are women here.
The parties are trying to shout each other down. One part is shouting "Allah Akbar!" "Away the gang!" and "Ukraine". Another part is shouting "Russia!" and "Fascism will not pass!"
According to the Crimean deputy Oleg Rodivilov, the leader of the political party Russian Unity, the deputy of the Supreme Council of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov came out to protesters and addressed strikers with the request to leave in order to avoid provocations.
Some of the activists left, but confrontation continues.
