Turchinov declared struggle with separatism
The Chairman of Verkhovna Rada, acting President Aleksandr Turchinov called on the Prosecutor General's Office and its employees to rebuff separatist trends in the Crimea and Sevastopol.
Turchinov said that "the real manifestations of separatist tendencies" began in the south of Ukraine and called for the immediate rebuff to it.
Turchinov made this statement on Tuesday while introducing acting Prosecutor General Oleg Makhnitskiy in the Prosecutor General's Office's. He said that "those who hate Ukraine and want to divide it" took advantage of "absence of authority" in Kiev.
He also called for clearing authorities of prosecution from corruption.
Makhnitskiy, on his part, called on regional prosecutors to carry out thorough investigative actions of representatives of local authorities, who make separatist speeches first of all in the Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as in Lugansk, Kharkov and Donetsk regions.
