Two pickets will take place in the Crimea
The Crimean parliament will discuss the situation in the region at an extraordinary session. Simultaneously the picket will be held in front of Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea. Representatives of the Russian and Crimean Tatar population of the Crimea already stated about the future pickets and rallies.
According to the press service of the parliament of the Crimea, two issues are in the agenda: "the socio-political situation in the Crimea" and "the report of the Council of Ministers of the Crimea about its work in 2013." Journalists and political experts are actively discussing rumors about probable resignation of the Prime Minister of the Crimea Anatoliy Mogilev, who occupies the position since fall 2011. The session will begin at 3:00 p.m.
The rally of the Russian population began on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning residents of the Crimea begun a termless protest in front of the building of the Supreme Council. They require the deputies not to recognize the new leadership of the country, who came to power after riots and clashes in Kiev. Participants of the rally also demand to come back to the Constitution of the Crimea of 1992, according to which the Crimea had significantly wider powers: the republic had its own president and independent foreign policy. They suggest holding a referendum regarding the future status of the Crimea.
On Wednesday morning representatives of the Crimean Tatar population of the Crimea intend to hold an alternative rally in front of the building of the parliament and to demand that the Supreme Council recognize the new power, as well as to declare about their desire for keeping the Crimea a part of Ukraine.
