Communists are in opposition
Communist Party of Ukraine will be in opposition to the new government.
“Given all the circumstances, the Communist Party and its faction in the Ukrainian parliament will be in opposition to the new government,” reads the statement of the party.
The statement notes that the Communist Party has repeatedly drawn the attention of President Viktor Yanukovych and the Cabinet of Ministers to the malignancy of their policies, and to the trend towards the authoritarian regime in the country.
“And when the situation has reached a critical stage, President Viktor Yanukovych and many senior officials cowardly left their public office, and some of them — Ukraine,” says the statement.
Communist Party is concerned that anti-communist slogans become increasingly popular in Ukraine.
In this context, the party insists that persecution of people for their political beliefs and ideological views must be prohibited.
