Athletes took the lead from the start and only kept on increasing their advantage. They sorted each other out at the finishing gate. The victory went to Marit Bjoergen, who won her second gold in Sochi. Teresa Yohaug got silver, Christine Stermer Steyr — bronze. The fourth athlete lost to her just over a minute.
