Victor Wild brings Russia second gold in snowboarding
Following the giant slalom, Russian rider won the parallel slalom, too.
It was well possible that Wild stays with a single victory, as he made a mistake in the first semi-final race. He remained on his feet, and finished, though more than a second later than his challenger, Benjamin Karl from Austria. In the second race the Russian did the impossible — not only he won, but also recovered the catastrophic (as for giant slalom) delay. In the final, he twice beaten Zan Kosir from Slovenia, who received silver. Bronze went to Kral.
Julia Duymovits, Austria, celebrated victory in the women’s parallel slalom. Silver went to Anke Karstens form Germany, bronze — to her compatriot Amelie Kober.
