Crimea authorities may set up a municipal police
Crimean cities need to create a municipal police, which will be financed from the local budget, said Peter Zaporozhets, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Crimea, at the plenary session of the Crimean parliament on February 19.
“We need to form our own municipal police. I believe that each of our city with at least 100,000 people can finance a unit of special forces numbering about a thousand people,” said Peter Zaporozhets, adding that, in his opinion, this will help keeping public order in the region.
According to the deputy, upkeep of one such policemen will cost at about UAH 70,000 per year.
