Kiev’s PR man sentenced to 4 years for DDoS-attack on the Party of Regions site during elections
On February 17, Kievsky District Court of Simferopol gave managing partner of Kiev PR-agency “PR & Z” Zahar Chistyakov to 4 years suspended prison sentence for DDoS-attacks on the site of the Crimean organization of the Party of Regions.
The accused is forbidden from holding IT positions for three years, reports the press service of the Prosecutor of Crimea.
According to Prosecutor’s Office, during the last election race the perpetrator unfolded the network attack, which was backed by a forged statement of the head of the Crimean government, aiming at weakening the political force.
It was found that the attack was carried out by 32-year-old resident of Kiev Zahar Chistyakov. He was informed about the suspicion of an offense under Part 3 of Article 27 and Part 2 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code (organization of tampering with computers and automated systems).
