First gold in ski jumping in the history of the Olympics
The winner is Karina Vogt from Germany.
She brought for the country the fourth gold in Sochi Olympics. The Germans now hold five medals in total. Carina Vogt won with a total result of 247.4 points. The silver went to Daniela Iraschko from Austria, while French ski jumper Colin Mattel won a bronze medal. Russian Irina Avvakumova was 15th. Ukrainians did not participate in this program. This is the first year that ski jumping competition was entered to the Olympic program.
