A Korean Sang-Hwa Lee breaks up the Dutch hegemony in speed skating
South Korean athlete won the sprint race. Russia’s Olga Fatkulina got silver on 500-metre track.
Russian athlete Olga Fatkulina won the silver medal of the Sochi Olympics in the 500 meters race. By the total of the two races she showed the result of 75.06 seconds, second only to Korean Sang-Hwa Lee, who set a new Olympic record with 74.70 seconds. Third place and bronze medal were awarded to Holland’s Margot Boer. Hers was the eighth medal in speed skating for the Netherlands.
